Home!

It still feels like a dream, but we did it! We bought our new house🎉 The Dumont house will forever be in our hearts as both kiddos came back to that home from the hospital and spend the first months of their lives there. Full of love, laughter and tears. However, as Jon reminds me often, we keep the memories in our hearts to cherish, and home is where we are together.

During our summer trip back to WA, our kind friend who is also a realtor showed us 10 houses in a day. Needless to say, we were exhausted by the end of the day. But, we fell in love with the very first house we saw. We named it the Hobbit House because of the slightly low ceiling and spread-out structure. It has lots of characters, lots of lights, beautiful backyard plus a chicken coop. In the middle of the city! We put in an offer, rushed back to Hanoi to our kids, and went through the motion all online. It still amazes me how we can nowadays buy a house without physically presented in the country.

We will be an hour away from our WA parents, and half an hour away from SeaTac airport. Now it’s time to decide when to move back. It breaks my heart to leave Hanoi and my family here, but in our hearts, we believe the sooner we make the move, the sooner we will achieve the financial stability that allows us to buy our second home in Vietnam. It’s never easy to say goodbye to a place where we planted our roots, although temporarily, surrounded by families, relatives and friends. We will, however, be back as often as we can!
