Leap Day

Today is a strange, amazing day that comes only once every four years. Marking the “leap” in time, it contains one of those rare moments of delightful transience and light uncertainty that only exist on the edge of things. What an amazing day!

Aurora’s first modelling photo session came out today on the baby clothing brand’s website and social media. She was a true cutie:

We also stumbled upon this movie on Netflix: The Guilt Trip – highly recommended! It was made in 2012 but still very relevant and fun to watch. It’s a comedy about a mother and son on a road trip across the US with emotional baggage of their own. It reminds me a lot of the book Everything Left to Remember – a beautiful but painful memoir of a daughter taking her mom who’s suffering from dementia to a road trip to visit major national parks. With our children growing up so fast, I can also see our parents growing old at the same speed. I don’t know what I would do for them if one day they start to forget things, like many old people around me. In the past, I would never imagine my grandpa no longer remembering who I am. This time of everyone being close together is the most precious to me, to my babies.

Looking forward to an exciting March to celebrate Jon’s birthday, our small staycation and more memories down the road ❤
