Another year has arrived (technically, not until Tet for me, but still)! It’s time for a fresh start, presenting my resolutions for a better self with personal growth. I might not be able to keep all these resolutions, but hey, “if you aim at nothing, you hit nothing”.
Buy no new clothing for myself. This will be challenging to keep, but as of right now, I’m super happy with my closet. Shoes might be excluded from this promise :))
Drink more water. Seems so easy but also hard to keep. The first step is to get a cute insulated tumbler, easy to carry around – which I did. Here’s also to less to-go cups.
Connect with my loved ones. Jon & I came up with a list of 10 most important people in our lives, 5 shared, 5 own. Moms are above the list (it goes Mom, then the list). We might not have a social life, but we will try to keep in touch with people who matter to us most.
30-minute of creativity daily. Whether it is coloring, cross-stitch, DIYs, crafting. Take a good care of my wellbeing so I can take care of others.
One trip every month, at least. With our family, friends, or just the two of us to unwind. We kept this promise last year and couldn’t be more thankful for what it gave us.
Take a class. I want to be a student again. Even a short course would work.
Make one small change. There are many small changes that seams achievable as a start: say no to plastic straw, reduce added sugar (aka Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk – my love!), carry my own bag to grocery stores, etc.
Read. We actually started a reading challenge since 2017. We have never completed it since. However, the books we read every year keep increasing. Let’s see if we get to 20 books this year and finally complete the challenge!
