My plant collection just wildy expanded this month🌿Thanks to March 8th – International Women’s Day (which is not celebrated in the US, but very much celebrated in Vietnam), Jon got me 2 of plants on my wishlist: a variegated string of heart, and a jade pothos. They were from this little local shop which is exactly my future dream plant shop with lots of cute plants, pots, and other plant-related knicknacks.
Then, two begonias from a major begonia collector in NJ. Small leaves, caned begonia jiewhoei is to die for! Not to mention the princess-looking begonia brevirimosa who’s like “I can only live in a green house end of discussion!”. My next begonia to collect would be the begonia white ice with the pointy top!
We took a road trip to Virginia this month to visit Jon’s old colleagues at UVA. I got to visit some local nurseries and got some amazing deals: a giant moonshine sansevieria for $17, a pure pink aglaonema for $25, and a giant 4-feet long scindapsus pictus for $50. Thank god we have a big car haha. Nem also got to see the Baltimore aquarium, he loved all the fish!
Finally, I got to go to lunch and catch up with Anna Montes during one of my in-office days, and she gave me some unknown hoya cuttings. They are growing strongly in water in the office. Soon I will be able to start a new pot. Loving it!
