Four-year wedding anniversary!

Hello May!

Spring is officially here, which means more exciting trips to discover local nurseries. We really went crazy with outdoor plants and flowers this time as this is our first year at this house. And of course, loads and loads of indoor cuties too. We hoarded as much as we can for our first yard-plant sale, which was also the town-wide garage sale day. It was SO MUCH fun doing a mini sale at home!

a part of the sale!

May is also special to us, it’s our wedding anniversary on May 6, actually, from May 5 to May 7 haha. Jon can’t complain because that’s already a mini version of the actual Vietnamese tradition which can last a week. It still feel like yesterday when our families and friends from all over the world flew to Hanoi to join our ceremony on a steamy hot, sunny Saturday afternoon. The ring was too tight for Jon, my maid of honor was almost fainted during the ceremony, both moms in the traditional Ao Dai, and my dad walking me down the aisle. Sometimes I’d ask Jon “can we do our wedding again?”, just to tease him, and also because I loved our so much!

our friends for life!

It’s also my first Mother’s Day with baby Haruki! And our aunt and uncle drew all the way from Georgia to visit us and my mom. Aunt of course spoiled us with a car full of Vietnamese food, mostly things I don’t know how to cook J They are my only relatives in the US, and we used to live in the same city back in our Oklahoma phase in 2018. I hope we will be able to bring up Haruki in a way that he understands family ties, traditions and the bonding we all have!
