Wow, first thing first, with how much money we spend to maintain this blog, I definitely need to write more often. It’s now October, the gorgeous autumn is here! No leaf peaking road trip this year, so here’s a photo from our trip to North Creek NY last year – our first fall in the marvelous upstate New York:

My third trimester was okay-ish, no-one warned me of the crazy itch and rash as my belly stretched uncontrollably. Doctor appointments got more frequently, and we discussed induction which our dream date was October 10, not only because it’s a nice date but also because it’s Hanoi Libration Day. My doctor nicely let us know that they wouldn’t have a team come in for induction on a Saturday (meh!), so if I do need induction, most likely it will be the following Tuesday – the 13th or 14th. I was literally checking all the farm calendars constantly to see when the apple and pumpkin picking starts. We went back to the Von Thun Farm which is a nice 1-hour drive from Dumont to Washington county. More pumpkins, I want more pumpkins!

So, my last day to wrap things up at work was Friday, October 2nd. I was so satisfied that I could check off all the boxes I needed to do before I left work, and more importantly, that I still have one more week to prep for labor and whatever I need/want to do before baby Nem is here. Seattle mom & dad also arrived safe and sound that Friday after a 2-week road trip in their new motorhome. Well, our baby decided to arrive the next Saturday 🙂 I can already tell he has mommy’s trait – not wasting any vacation days, not even a weekend! My water broke at 4am and no contraction, which made the ride to the hospital a breeze, and of course no traffic that early in the morning into Manhattan – our biggest fear! Way to go baby! I delivered at 10:09pm. Our beautiful baby boy is finally here!

We stayed in the hospital for an extra night as baby was born late at night. Still in awe with this little human in our arms, we all got home the next Monday. Root Beer’s been extra cautious around baby Nem, I think it will take a while for her to cuddle with him haha. Jon and I are doing our best to adapt to this brand new life with a baby. Healing, work from home, feeding and changing, pumping, all these little things and we slowly figure out the rhythm that works for our family.
