I have neglected my blog for so long! To sum up the crazy three months that have just passed by, NYC was hit with Covid-19 and we started working from home from March 19. I think Jon and I both got used to it by now. We actually enjoy sharing a kitchen table, lunch together, and so much time saved from no commute. Work is steady, entering the peak season for admissions. Especially with Covid-19 blocking new international students from getting for their visas, and current student facing the fear of either having to transfer to another school or being deported if Columbia offer online classes, admissions have never been in such a turbulence! Just wanted to note the Covid trend here to look back in the future:

On the positive side, baby is growing healthy and kicking like a football player! We pet-named him Nem, which is a traditional Northern Vietnamese fried spring roll that we never ate out. It’s a homemade cuisine, made by mom, and only the one made by her is delicious! I secretly think Jon’s still confused why we use a kind of food to call our baby =) Well, he will have more power when we do need to make the decision of the baby’s real name then.
As we could not travel long distance, this summer is full of road trips. We went to a cabin in the wood at the border of NH and MA, where Jon could go kayaking at the pond and built a fire! It was absolutely gorgeous and relaxing. We also got to go to the Elizabeth Rose Garden in Hartford CT – the third largest one in the US! And hopefully one more trip to go see a lavender field some time in late July 🙂

Among all these fun memories, this summer is at the same time truly stressful as we picked a house! It’s time to get out of the city, although living in Manhattan does have it peaks! If everything goes as planned we will be NJ folks at the end of July woo hoo! And believe me, if you can guy a house with someone, most likely you will overcome all other hardship in life with that person! Pictures of the house coming soon once we have actually moved.
